How Hanuman Chalisa tells us the distance between Sun and Earth

Everyone knows that Hanuman jumped to sun with the intention to just swallow this big orange fruit. But do you know that Hanuman chalisa also has exact distance between earth and sun ?

! जुग सहस्त्र योजन पर भानु, लील्यो ताहि  मधुर फल जानू ! (Jug sahastra yojan par bhanu, lilyo tahi madhur fal janu)

This means that Sun (भानु ) is at a distance of  Juug Sahastra Yojans (जुग सहस्त्र योजन- Distance Unit in Hindi)

According to following conversion practices that are in use as per Hindu Vedic Literature-

1Juug= 12000 Sahastra= 1000 1Yojan=8 Miles

Thus 12000X1000X8 = 96,000,000  miles

I miles= 1.6 kms

This further implies that distance is about 153,600,000 Km.

Hanuman Chalisa was written by Goswami Tulasidas ji in 15th century where as Italian astronomers were able to calculate the exact distance between sun and earth to around 147,000,000 miles.

This is not the first time Hindus got these sort of numbers right. Hindus in past had also very accurately predicted age of the universe.
